OLYMPIC GAMES IMPACT (OGI) STUDY FOR THE PYEONGCHANG 2018 OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES

Edited by The PyeongChang Organising Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, 2016, 365 pages, in English.

The IOC initiated the Olympic Games Impact (OGI) Study to produce an objective and scientific analysis of the impact of each edition of the Games, while also providing a record of their individual nature and host context, and developing a set of indicators that are common to all Olympic Games.

This is the second OGI Study for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and includes analysed results on 34 topics, 79 core subjects and 19 case studies in relation to the environment, the social culture and the economic aspects of the host city.

IOC MARKETING REPORT: RIO 2016

The Olympic Games are one of the most effective international marketing platforms in the world, reaching billions of people in over 200 countries and territories throughout the world. The IOC’s Marketing Report for Rio 2016 presents details of all the main themes related to the marketing programmes of the Games, including broadcasting, sponsorship, ticketing, merchandising and the Olympic brand.

THE INTANGIBLE LEGACIES OF THE SINGAPORE 2010 SUMMER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES AS PERCEIVED BY YOUNG SINGAPOREANS

Mary Ang Ser Hui, Nick Aplin, Ng Xuan Ming, 2016, 227 pages, in English.

One of the objectives of creating the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) was to inspire young people around the world to participate in sport and to adopt and live by the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect. This empirical study, commissioned by the IOC, attempts to measure the success of the inaugural YOG, held in 2010, in influencing young Singaporeans through its intangible legacies, and to contribute to the future development and direction of the YOG.

SPORT POLICY SYSTEMS AND SPORT FEDERATIONS: A CROSS-NATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

This book explores the organisation and structure of sport in and beyond Europe.
