Study on the awareness and meaning of Olympism in the Netherlands

The Mulier Institute & The Netherlands Olympic Study Network and the Nederlands Olympisch Comité * Nederlandse Sport Federatie (NOC*NSF) conducted a study aiming to elicit the level of awareness of the ideology of Olympism among the adult Dutch population. Moreover, the study analysed to what extent there was a relation between the awareness of the Olympic ideology and support for organising the Games in the Netherlands on the one hand and the attitude towards the IOC on the other hand. A summary of the results is available here.

DELTA BAROMETER OF GOOD GOVERNANCE AND INNOVATION IN SPORT. THE CASE OF BELGIAN SPORT FEDERATIONS

The Delta project has been orchestrated by the Fonds Baillet Latour (FBL), in partnership with the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC) and GUBERNA.

For this study, the research group Onderzoeksgroep Sport- & Bewegingsbeleid from the KU Leuven (Prof. Dr. Jeroen Scheerder) and the Chaire Olympique Henri de Baillet Latour et Jacques Rogge en Management des Organisations Sportives of the UCLouvain (Prof. Dr. Thierry Zintz) carried out research into aspects of good governance and innovation for sports federations in Belgium.

In 2018, the first part of this study was launched, from which this report was produced. The analysis covers the levels of good governance and innovation of all Belgian federations together. In 2020, a second draft of this study will appear in order to analyse the evolution of the quality of governance and innovation.
