PROMOTING OLYMPIC STUDIES IN BRAZIL

Building on the increased enthusiasm and interest before and after the Games, the Olympic Studies Centres located in the host country play a specifically important role in educating and inspiring the next generation of Olympic scholars. It is therefore with great pleasure that, on the occasion of the Games in Rio, the IOC Olympic Studies Centre donated a large collection of books to the Federal University of Espírito Santo, the State University of Rio de Janeiro, the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, as well as to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.

We hope that these will contribute to the promotion of Olympic research in the country in the years to come.

100 new titles collected after the Rio Games

The Olympic Games in Rio are over but research on them will continue for many years. We’ve been able to collect almost 100 new titles, published by the Organising Committee, the IFs, the TOP Sponsors and also 50 team booklets from the National Olympic Committees on occasion of the Games.

We also have the special Olympic edition of the well-known Brazilian newspaper O’Globo, and the full collection of the Olympic Village newspaper for you.
