“HISTORICIZING THE PAN-AMERICAN GAMES”: A SPECIAL ISSUE OF INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF THE HISTORY OF SPORT
This new double special issue of the International Journal of the History of Sport brings together 12 papers exploring the Pan-American Games. In 2015, the Pan-American and the Parapan-American Games took place in Toronto. On this occasion two members of our selection committee Cesar Torres (current member) and Bruce Kidd (former member) gathered an international team of scholars in the history of the Americas, inter-American affairs and the Olympic Movement to write and present articles exploring the history of the Pan-American Games. Bruce and Cesar then co-edited this special issue which includes eleven of the expert papers presented at the conference plus a twelfth one specially commissioned for the journal. You can read it here.
